Member agreement

We, Oakridge Farms, wish to provide you with fresh, local, seasonal food and you, the member, wish to receive a portion of our harvest. This agreement outlines our shared commitment to that relationship.

Members are responsible for showing up at their designated pick-up site each week to pick up your share of freshly harvested produce.  If you cannot pick-up your share, you must arrange for someone else to pick it up for you. You are responsible for explaining the pick-up location and procedures to your substitute.  If your share is not picked up, it will be held in the cooler at the CB farm until the end of the following business day.  It is understood by the member that quality may be compromised (from transport or irregular refrigeration).  If you do not pick up your share, it will not be held beyond 24 hours.  If you wish to change your drop site, you must notify us by Sunday of any given pick-up week.

We take the quality and safety of your food seriously.  Most items are washed post harvest to remove soil or other field debris. Please keep in mind that not all produce is washed post harvest; some items are very sensitive or become very perishable when washed (such as berries) and should not be washed until they are ready to be consumed.  We strongly advise washing all produce before consumption. Information about handling your CSA items to maintain freshness post harvest will be included in the box on a weekly "care sheet".

The best way to communicate with us is via email oakridgeberries@gmail.com.  Our business phone number is 920-725-1541 and the best times to reach us during the season (June-August) is between 8am-5pm when the store is staffed.  Our staff will be able to answer most questions regarding the CSA, but if you have specific questions regarding growing techniques or farm practices you may need to speak with Blaine or Jodi for the most thorough information. We will do our best to respond as soon as possible, but please understand that we spend most of our time in the field growing your food and not at our desk. Please contact us with any news of the following: changes to your postal or email address, changes to your drop-site location, problems with your drop-site, or dissatisfaction with your share.

We promise to do our best to provide you with a bountiful share each week. We can assure you that we have weathered many storms literally and figuratively in our years of farming and we have the knowledge, tools and experience to face the challenges of growing fruit and vegetables in Wisconsin.  The quantity of produce however, may vary from week-to-week, month-to-month and season-to-season due to extreme weather, insects, or other production factors despite our best efforts.  By joining our CSA, you are agreeing to share the risk of crop failure with us and other members.

We will communicate with you by email. When you sign up, you will be added to our email distribution list. Please read your email from us. We depend on being able to communicate important information such as necessary changes to your distribution schedule or invitations to our farm events.  We will host a member meeting in May in advance of the program to offer you a chance to ask questions and provide you will helpful information to make the most of your CSA experience. With the start of the first CSA pick-up, we will email a newsletter giving you information about the crops available that week or month, recipe ideas, or other farm related news. Until that time we will keep you informed of other farm news with less frequency.

By signing below, I agree to purchase a membership share. I understand that a down payment of 50% of the total share price is due within 15 days of sign-up.  If a down payment is not received within 15 days of sign-up your membership will be removed as shares are limited. I understand that payment in full in due by May 1st, 2016. I understand that, although unlikely, the farm may change parts of this agreement related to production and distribution from time to time. I understand that they will contact me via email in advance of any changes to this agreement.
