Raspberry picking update-Oakridge Farms

Posted 7/12/2011 11:48pm by Jodi Schultz.

We have gotten an incredible turn out for PYO raspberries and we have found ourselves "picked out"; we will be CLOSED for PYO on Wednesday, July 13th.

This weekend's forecast looks very hot which will likely impact open picking hours.  When the temperatures are in the 90's we use the irrigation system to cool down the berries and need to  water them in short intervals.  In addition, it is also a safety issue to have our staff and customers picking in extreme heat.

In general, PYO raspberries is offered Saturday-Wednesdays 8am-3pm and we hope to pick for 3 weeks total.  However, picking conditions are subject to change daily so always call ahead, 725-1541 before heading to the farm to pick.
There are plenty of items to choose from at our farm stands and pre-picked raspberries are available every day! Green beans, yellow beans, kohlrabi, sugar snap peas, shell peas, radishes, raspberries and Michigan blueberries are available at our stands.

In addition to our daily farm stands, we are also at several farmers' markets! Please visit us On Broadway (Green Bay) Wednesdays from 3-8pm,  the Menasha farmers' market Thursdays 2-6pm, the Appleton farmers' market on Saturday 8am-12:30pm or the Green Bay farmers' market on Saturday 7am-12pm.

Thank you for your support!
